Politicians spin their messages in order to influence us. Most journalists, online and print, provide us with their opinions, rather than what used to be called ‘objective analysis”. All of this dis-empowers us as voters. Politicians and many journalists today invite us to participate in a marketing driven ‘popularity contest’ rather than a good governance process.
